My family stayed on Aug 11 and it was perfect!! The owner & staff was very helpful and personable. The room was traditional as expected and the bathrooms / showers fully upgraded. The staff became our family and so welcoming and loving, we ARE going back and see them again. I would give them 10 out of 5 stars :)

The in character owners, taking on the personality of those from 1870 lead us through historical story telling making the evening fade away far too quickly. Breakfast was to die for. The whole Barkerville gold rush experience was inhanced by staying here. Just perfect.

A True Treasure that stood the test of time! July 2014 Again a group of us gals went for a get away. We had a great time visiting and eating. The sitting room was perfect for this. The breakfast and coffee service in the morning hit the spot. We were there for the Opening Gala for the Theatre Royal. Another great performance! There are many areas to look throughout the town. The actors roaming up and down the streets, and performing were good at there parts too. Just remember your slippers when you check in, and you are sure to enjoy your stay!

Historic Treat August 20, 2014 We spent two nights in Barkerville at the St. George Hotel this August. Saya was a friendly and efficient hostess. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony of the hotel watching the visitors and `locals` - at this time of year there were not many bugs to worry about - no screens on anything. The bedroom worked for our family of three - our son slept on a cot at the foot of the bed. The room was a bit tight with luggage but we spent most of the time exploring the town and sitting in the hotel's public spaces chatting or playing games at the dinning room table. The bathroom down the hall was really clean and shared with only one other room. Breakfasts were good too.

We stayed in the St. George Hotel in Barkerville in late September and although the season was almost done the staff, Ms.Saya & Ms.Faith, were as enthusiastic as if the season just had started. Their services were great as was the hotel as a whole. If you want to experience a little last century mixed with 21st century luxury this is the place to stay when you visit Barkerville. The breakfast they serve is really outstanding, wishes are taken down the evening before. Evenings in the hotel are special as well as Ms. Saya serves fresh tea to her guests and is always willing to answer questions and/.or tell stories of the past. The total experience make you feel at home in a time far beyond.
